Examination Matters

Examination Timetable

This applies to both Preparatory for Diploma of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Certificate of Professional Practice (CoPP) and Certificate of Attendance (CoA) leading to Diploma of Educational Studies (DoES) The Examination dates for Practicum and Theory Paper are set at the beginning of the course.

Any candidate who wishes to take the exam earlier needs to write in to enquiry@gigis.edu.sg one week in advance specifying the day, date and the time requested. GIGIS reserves the right to reject if the schedule is deemed inconvenient for its operations.

GIGIS reserves the right to bar / fail candidate if he or she is found guilty of any misconduct during the exam.

Provisional Examination Results

a. Candidates will be informed of their examination results through email.

Readiness of Certificate for Collection

Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching & Learning
• 3 months after assignment submission of each module
• 3 months after assignment submission of final module

Preparatory Course for Diploma in TESOL
• 2 months after final examination 2 months after final examination

Diploma of Educational Studies
• 3 months after assignment submission
• 3 months after assignment submission

Certificate of Professional Practice
• 1 months after final examination Results would not be disclosed to candidates who did not submit the lesson plan online before final examination date.
• 3 months after final examination

b. GIGIS will not consider:

• any telephone requests for enquiries about examination results
• any requests for enquiries about examination results involving other candidates

Preparatory Course for Diploma in TESOL
• Distinction,
• A+, A, A-
• B+, B, B-
• C+, C, C-
• Fail

Diploma of Educational Studies, NIL

Certificate of Professional Practice
• Distinction 80 – 100 points
• A 70 – 79 points
• B 60 – 69 points
• C 50 – 59 points
• D 40 – 49 points
• F 0 – 39 points

CoPP Certificates

Results will be released to candidates a month after their Theory Exam and the certificates from LTTC, UK will be available 3 months after the course ends. Actual grades will not be released to candidates who have failed to submit their lesson plans. These candidates will only know if they have passed or failed.
