Deferment Policy
Candidates who wish to defer the course to next intake are required to submit a formal written request to enquiry@gigis.edu.sg. This letter of deferment may also be sent via electronic mail. Afterwhich, they will be asked to fill up a form and duly signed and email it back to enquiry@gigis.edu.sg or mail it via post at the given school address. Telephone correspondence of any kind does not constitute as a formal request.
Candidates are allowed to join any similar course intake or continue their classes within 6 months upon formal registration. Beyond 6 months to be granted admission will be on case to case basis and upon approval of the principal. Otherwise, re-enrolment is required.
Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching & Learning (CICTL)
If the deferment request which comes in less than 7 days before scheduled final assignment submission, re-submission fee of $230 is chargeable.
Preparatory Course for Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
If the deferment request which comes in less than 7 days before the final practical examinations, a deferment fee $230 is chargeable
Diploma of Educational Studies (DoES)
Candidates taking the Diploma of Educational Studies is only allowed to defer 1 (one) time for a chosen module. Subsequent deferments for 2nd or 3rd course / module is chargeable.
If request is sent:
30 working days before class commencement:
• The deferment fee of $100 will be waived for a first time request.
• GIGIS reserves the right to deny deferment requests.
More than or 14 working days before class commencement:
• A deferment fee of $100 will be levied.
• GIGIS reserves the right to deny deferment request.
Less than 14 days before class commencement:
• A deferment fee of $100 will be levied.
• GIGIS reserves the right to deny deferment request.
• Candidates are required to make full payment or continue the instalment payment as stipulated in the instalment plan.
Certificate of Professional Practice (CoPP)
If request is sent:
More than or 14 working days before class commencement:
• A deferment fee of $100 will be levied.
• GIGIS reserves the right to deny deferment request.
Less than 14 days before class commencement:
• A deferment fee of $100 will be levied.
• GIGIS reserves the right to deny deferment request.
• Candidates are required to make full payment or continue the instalment payment as stipulated in the instalment plan.
Less than 7 days before class commencement:
• A deferment fee of $100 will be charged.
• GIGIS reserves the right to deny deferment request.
• Candidates are required to make full payment or continue the instalment payment as stipulated in the instalment plan.
GIGIS reserves the right to postpone a course for up to 3 months from the stipulated date as signed on the Registration Form. A full refund of the amount paid will be given to participants when GIGIS is unable to start a course 3 months from the date signed on the Registration Form.
GIGIS reserves the right to make any amendments to the course material, start and end dates as deemed necessary without prior notice to participants. Students will be duly informed via telephone and electronic means of any changes to pertaining to their course of study at GIGIS.
